Course Overview:

This Speech online course is an introduction to public speaking that emphasizes the communication process, types of speeches, and argumentation.  

In this course, students will explore major concepts related to communication. They will learn about the communication process and the various types of communication. Public speaking will be emphasized, equipping students with skills to effectively present their ideas and engage with audiences. They will delve into the art of persuasion, understanding how to appeal to others and influence their thoughts and actions. Argumentation will also be a key focus, teaching students how to construct and present compelling arguments. Through these major concepts, students will develop essential communication skills necessary for effective expression and engagement in various contexts.  

The purpose of this course is to prepare students for public speaking situations, decrease speaker anxiety, and provide them with basic principles of research and organization needed for effective speeches.
