Course Overview:

This Mandarin 2 live online course is designed to help students continue building their Mandarin vocabulary, and be familiar with Mandarin tones, characters, and simple sentence structure. After this course, students should be able to use simple sentences to communicate familiar topics and accomplish short social interactions. Students will learn from simple videos, songs, and authentic materials, while instructors will help students increase their vocabulary and foster their ability to construct full simple sentences. By the end of this course, students should know at least 300 Mandarin words. The central themes of the course are body health, directions, travel, weather, food, sports, renting, and animals. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to name illnesses, give directions, make travel plans, talk about weather, order at a restaurant, talk about sports, rent a house, and talk about animals.

The main grammatical focus of the course is the Mandarin sentence structure, how to form questions, and the use of 了,过, and 在 to mark tenses.
