AP® Environmental Science
Course Overview:
This college-level AP® Environmental Science online course, students will explore the field of environmental science, beginning with an understanding of fundamental principles and the causes of environmental problems. They will delve into the interdependence of Earth’s living systems, including ecosystems, biodiversity, and terrestrial and aquatic life zones. Population dynamics and the impact of human populations on the environment will be examined, along with strategies for sustaining species biodiversity. The course will also cover environmental quality and protection, addressing topics like risk assessment, air and water pollution, climate change, and waste management. Additionally, students will learn about Earth’s resources, including water, geologic, food, and soil resources, as well as various energy sources, both renewable and non-renewable. Throughout the course, students will develop a broader perspective on environmental issues and explore different societal worldviews related to the environment.
