AP® Calculus BC

Course Overview:

In this AP® Calculus BC online course, students will embark on a comprehensive journey through calculus.

Semester A

In Semester A, students begin with a review of fundamental mathematical concepts, then delve into the core principles of calculus, starting with limits, continuity, and differentiation. They’ll explore differentiation in various contexts and its Applications in fields like physics and engineering, covering topics such as velocity and related rates.

Semester B

In Semester B, students will continue their exploration, delving into more advanced integration techniques, including exponential functions and trigonometric integrals. They’ll also study differential equations, learn about finding areas between curves and calculating volumes of solids, and delve into parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions. The course concludes with an examination of infinite sequences and series, including Taylor and Maclaurin series.

After taking this course students will be able to work with functions in a variety of ways, and be able to use derivatives to solve a variety of problems, which is math-speak for having the skills to build the future of technology. This course features a wide range of readings, simulations, assessments, and more to ensure successful course completion.
