Course Overview:

In this Japanese 3 online course, students will master how to read and write hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Additionally, students will learn about the difference between formal speech and casual speech. Students will also be able to express their opinion, quote someone’s report, and explain their daily routine. Students will be able to express plans, predict the weather and the future. The main grammatical focus of the course is how to express opinions, instructions and requests, comparisons, daily routines and responsibilities, and making plans. Students will be able to use a total of 100 kanji

characters for reading and writing.

The central themes of this course are formal speech and casual speech, expressing opinions, quoting someone’s report, daily routines and responsibilities, experiences, talking about a past trip, making plans, predicting the weather and future, expressing a physical condition, and offering consultation and advice. The student learning outcomes of this level are to be able to reinforce the speech levels (casual, formal, and honorific forms), practice speaking using longer and more complex phrases, and express opinions confidently.
