Hebrew 3

Course Overview:

In the Hebrew 3 online course, the main goal of the course is for students to be introduced to the intermediate vocabulary, grammar, and expressions relevant to real-life situations by engaging in a variety of activities that focus on developing listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills in Hebrew. During each session, activities with the instructor may include learning new vocabulary, auditory activities, online activities, writing experience and a focus on conversation practice with a native Hebrew speaker.

Students will build upon, solidify, and enhance listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language. The main grammar focus of the course will be to learn more about the verbs Pi’el, Hif’il, and Hitpa’el in different tenses; forms of impersonal speech; and different result and purpose clauses. The central themes of the course are places in Israel, the Jerusalem area, the Moshav, agriculture, museums, cities, arranging doctor visits, and illness. The student learning outcomes of this level are to be able to arrange, change, or cancel a doctor’s visit; speak about life in Moshav or kibbutz; and talk about the importance of recycling.
